Bob Veach, Sr.

Bob Veach graduated from Mount Carmel High school in 1969. He was the starting running back for the Red Tornadoes under head coach Jazz Diminick (D4 HOF member) in 1968 when they won their first Southern Division Championship.

For 33 years he served on the sidelines of Mount Carmel Area as an assistant coach. During his tenure, MCA captured five state championships and he coached the running backs and defensive backs.

He is currently coaching the Red Tornadoes, under head coach John Darrah, in the same capacity.

In 1983, he was inducted into the Susquehanna University Sports Hall of Fame. In 1987 he was inducted into the Ed Romance Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. In 2014, the same HOF chapter, recognized Coach Veach his outstanding dedication to the Mount Carmel football program.

Coach Veach and his wife, Donna, have three sons: Bobby, Brett, and Jon. All three played football for Mount Carmel Area and went on to play football at the collegiate level. His son, Brett, is currently the General Manager of the NFL Kansas City Chiefs.
