Darwin "Shubby" Marquette was born in Shamokin and later moved to Dornsife where he graduated in 1961 from Trevorton High School. #13 proved to be his lucky number, as he was an outstanding quarterback, running back, and defensive back for the Trevorton Red Devils. His love of football was evidenced when, right after graduation, he became assistant coach and then head coach for the Trevorton Midgets for the next 25 years. When Trevorton merged with Mahanoy Joint to become Line Mountain Eagles, Marquette joined as an assistant coach, where he remained for the next 57 years. He was head coach 1997 and guided the Eagles to an 8-3 record.

Coach Shubby was a dedicated leader and passionate for the game. His love for football ran deep, and the lifelong connection to the sport drove everything he did, both on and off the field. At Line Mountain Coach Shubby was more than just a coach - he was a mentor, a motivator, and a builder of players.

With years of experience Coach Shubby was privileged to be part of nine championships, and District IV class 2A Championship in 1995. Known for his energy, his belief in hard work, and his deep care for his players, Coach Shubby was committed to helping his athletes succeed not just in football, but in life.
