FastMaz Speed and Agility Camp comes to Loyalsock
By: Ed Weaver / June 6, 2016
The FastMaz Speed and Agility Camp is back at Loyalsock High School for 2016.
The camp will be held at Loyalsock's football field on June 15-17, 20-24 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. rain or shine. The camp is directed by Olympic Sport Festival Coach Marilouise "Maz" Mazzante and assisted by Jeff Strohl.
About the Camp
This camp works with the development of running mechanics, leg speed, foot cadence and power to generate maximum speed. Athletes will be introduced to, and utilize the skills necessary to improve one's foot speed. These skills are critical in speed development and agility.
The training is done in short intervals. This is not distance running! We will work within 30-40-50-60-70 meters of running. All athletes will learn a variety of drills to improve speed and acceleration. In addition, we will incorporate beginning plyometric box training to develop strength to improve speed.
The coaching staff will videotape all athletes throughout the camp and do a complete, personal analysis and assessment of running technique and SPEED mechanics.
